Come on Summer!
Wednesday, March 29th, 2006Well it’s a new season but summer hasn’t shown much promise of surfacing just yet. But with the baby on the way there are no big boating plans for this season anyway. This year Csardas has a new home at Cobbs Quay in Poole. With the help of a few friends I shall be sailing her from Hamble to Poole tomorrow to park her in her new berth.
Csardas still needs a bottom scrub and re-antifouling. It’s mostly just slime at the moment so I don’t think our passage to Poole will be too impeded. But come April I need to sort that out properly.
A couple of events to look forward to. Hanse are organising another Hanse rally for the May bank holiday weekend, so we’ve entered Csardas into that and hope to get a few friends down for a jolly weekend. I’ve also entered the Round The Island Race which is the following Saturday - 3rd June. So I will be looking for crew 
On Sunday I’m flying to Palma Mallorca to join John, Sue and Gerry onboard Swagman. John and Sue have entered the East Med Rally so Gerry and I will be helping them sail to Istanbul for the start. We have a fairly tight schedule so they will have the motor running and lines ready to slip when I jump out of the taxi on Sunday. By Tuesday morning we should be approaching Sardinia.
